Writer Workshop February 11th, 2015

Those of you who also frequent Ana Mardoll’s Ramblings will find this somewhat familiar.  Here, as there, it was requested that there be a regular post to talk about writing projects (and other artwork-creation). Thus this post exists.

What are you working on? How are you feeling about it? What thoughts and/or snippets would you like to share? How does your activism work into your art? What tropes are you hoping to employ and/or avoid? Are there any questions you’d like to ask or frustrations you’d like to vent?  Writing workshop below!

I have two original settings inspired by survival horror game series.

Inspired by the Resident Evil games we have The Survivors, which is intended to be mostly the stories of the people from a city destroyed in a zombie+monster outbreak who actually made it out alive. Though also there would be stories of people not from the city who had cause to go in and then try to make it out alive.

I’ve written a description of the setting as given in a mission briefing.

Inspired by the Silent Hill games (which I have never played even one of, so more inspired by secondary sources on the Silent Hill games) we have The Crossing. So named because it’s a place that serves as a crossing between earth and … generally less pleasant dimensions.

I’ve written a character describing some of the backstory of the place, and also a long winded (even by my standards) thing on the thought that went into it.

So that’s what I’ve been writing lately, anyone else?

I am having so much fun with my Yu-Gi-Oh! genderswap fic. Cisgenderswap and transgenderswap and assignedgenderswap! Different characters, though.
