Writer Workshop June 17th, 2015

Those of you who also frequent Ana Mardoll’s Ramblings will find this somewhat familiar.  Here, as there, it was requested that there be a regular post to talk about writing projects (and other artwork-creation). Thus this post exists.

What are you working on? How are you feeling about it? What thoughts and/or snippets would you like to share? How does your activism work into your art? What tropes are you hoping to employ and/or avoid? Are there any questions you’d like to ask or frustrations you’d like to vent?  Writing workshop below!

I wrote about an idea I’ve long had for a setting in which various divinities and similar entities live along side ordinary people in generic small town America.

Entities mentioned, Christian God, Jesus, the devil, assorted demons. Buddha. Hel, daughter of Loki (though she doesn’t live there, her realm is where the underground railroad out of Hell delivers souls so they can be free. Pun is completely unintentional.)

Various fiction snippets are included in the post.

Just now I realized that I left out talking about the Divine Feminine, who is important because, you know, God. So I wrote a bit about that, and a fiction fragment featuring her.

Since the idea is to focus on the humans she’s not central, but she is definitely part of the idea, and has been for almost as long as I’ve had the idea.

I wrote on how I would do Star Wars (the title “A New Hope” wasn’t added until home video) differently.
