Writer Workshop January 5th, 2016

(Posted by chris the cynic)

Those of you who also frequent Ana Mardoll’s Ramblings will find this somewhat familiar.  Here, as there, it was requested that there be a regular post to talk about writing projects (and other artwork-creation). Thus this post exists.

What are you working on? How are you feeling about it? What thoughts and/or snippets would you like to share? How does your activism work into your art? What tropes are you hoping to employ and/or avoid? Are there any questions you’d like to ask or frustrations you’d like to vent?  Writing workshop below!

In an apparently vain attempt to unstick myself, I decided to try working on two fics at once. I am now more-or-less stuck on both of them. Twice as much writers block accomplished! \o/

Okay, I guess I’m making very slow progress on the fic I was originally stuck on. And the second fic is stuck on an action sequence, something I always find difficult. (You would think that a brief scuffle would be easy enough to write, but no. Even though I know the sequence of events I want to have happen. *sigh*)

*willing to buy potion/upload/whatever of writing ability*

I’m slogging through an edit of a massive manuscript (not mine) and wishing that I was working on the Aravis AU or a novella instead. *sighs*

I am so fucking stalled on everything. I was in a “Can only do Kim Possible fic” rut, now I’m just in a hole. At least ruts allow for forward motion.

I’d say maybe it’s a stuck time of the year, but I’ve been stuck or stuck-ish (woo! a whole paragraph written!) for some time now.

Anything that might help? Describing something you’re stuck writing? Brainstorming? Screaming into the ether? ???
