Open Thread: Mid-Month Check In, February 2017

What have you been doing of late?  How are you?  Are you still alive?  So forth.

Technically this should have been posted last week.  oops.

Aside from spending the past couple of weeks with a horrible case of uvula slugs (okay, technically a bad cold that turned into a sinus infection, but it feels like I have an army of slugs partying in my throat and doing nifty tricks off my uvula), I’ve been all right. Then again, I’ve mostly been asleep, or coughing up slugs and trying not to fall asleep in assorted hot liquids.

Despite this, I’ve somehow managed to work on the fic I’m writing. I guess the slugs got my internal editor. I’d thank them, but that doesn’t excuse the circus in my throat.

(I am grateful my workplace is pretty generous with sick leave, though.)

First primary computer broke, then I did. My left ankle (the fucking good one, I already had a bad ankle and was not in need of another) fractured in three places.

Later this week I’ll meet with the surgeon and he’ll tell me about the path forward for my ankle. My computer repair has hit a road block, apparently two of the necessary parts are on back order with no ETA. I’m used to having no idea when something being repaired will come back to me, but it’s kind of disturbing that the people fixing it have no idea.

I don’t even remember what was going on before that.

Still here. Surviving high winds (not actually all that high, but gusty and going on for a while) in the southern UK.

It’s Bin Day in this bit of London, so the wind’s occasionally getting strong enough to bowl emptied bins down the street.

And the cat’s complaining that every time he goes out Invisible Things are ruffling his fur.
