Deconstruction Roundup for October 13, 2017

(by the Slacktiverse and others; collected by Silver Adept, who laughs slightly at the fact that it’s mid-October.)

The point of these posts is threefold:

  1. To let people stay up to date on ongoing deconstructions. (All ones on our list, including finished and stalled ones, here.)
  2. To let people who can’t comment elsewhere have a place to comment.
  3. To let people comment in a place where people who can’t read Disqus can see what they have to say.

Libby Anne: Love, Joy, Feminism

Vaka Rangi: Eruditorium Press

Let us know, please, if there are errors in the post. Or if you don’t want to be included. Or if there’s someone who you think should be included, which includes you. We can use more content. Or if you are drowning in new media possibilities and need a breather. Or for any other reason, really.

Oooh, I know a couple of good ones:

Jenny Trout is doing a very satisfying deconstruction of the appalling ‘Handbook for Mortals’ by Lani Sarem (she’s the author who seems to have gamed the system to get her book to the top of the best-seller list). Latest installment is http://jennytrout.com/?p=11739, but she unfortunately doesn’t seem to have collected them all together in one link. First chapter is at http://jennytrout.com/?p=11574. She also has some great take-downs in her archives, on her ‘Jealous Hater Book Club’ page.

Wingedbeast is doing a deconstruction of Brave New World: https://wingedbeast.dreamwidth.org/tag/bravenewworld. She previously did 1984, which you can find on the same blog.
